Terms of Service

Welcome to FieldFinder. By accessing or using our platform at www.fieldfinder.xyz ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using FieldFinder, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization.

2. Account Registration

You may sign in using Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update it as necessary.

3. Using the Service

3.1 Match Participation

FieldFinder allows users to create, browse, and join pickup sports matches. When you join a match, you are making a commitment to attend. Repeated no-shows may negatively affect your reliability score and could result in restrictions on your account.

3.2 Content Guidelines

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or inappropriate content
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to facilitate illegal activity
  • Create fake matches or spam the platform
  • Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service
  • Impersonate another user or entity

3.3 Community Standards

FieldFinder is built for sportsmanship and community. Users who violate community standards, including through abusive chat messages or unsportsmanlike conduct, may have their accounts suspended or terminated.

4. Payments

Some matches may require a participation fee. Payments are processed through Stripe. By making a payment, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. Match organizers set their own pricing. Refund policies are determined by the match organizer. FieldFinder is not responsible for disputes between organizers and participants regarding payments.

5. Player of the Match (PotM) Voting

After a match is completed, participants may vote for a Player of the Match. Voting is voluntary. Manipulation of voting (e.g., creating multiple accounts to vote) is prohibited and may result in account termination.

6. Community Fields & Venues

Users may submit and vote on fields and venues. FieldFinder does not verify the accuracy, availability, or safety of user-submitted venues. You are responsible for confirming that a location is safe and accessible before attending a match.

7. Scraped Content

FieldFinder may display matches sourced from third-party platforms (including Meetup, GoodRec, Plei, and Facebook). These listings are provided for informational purposes. FieldFinder is not the organizer of third-party matches and is not responsible for their accuracy or availability.

8. Intellectual Property

The FieldFinder name, logo, and all original content on the Service are the property of FieldFinder. You retain ownership of content you post (e.g., chat messages, profile information) but grant FieldFinder a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute that content within the Service.

9. Limitation of Liability

FieldFinder is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • FieldFinder is not liable for injuries, property damage, or any harm arising from participation in matches arranged through the Service.
  • FieldFinder is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to FieldFinder (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Assumption of Risk

Participation in sports carries inherent risks of injury. By using FieldFinder and attending matches, you acknowledge and accept these risks and agree that FieldFinder, its operators, and match organizers are not responsible for injuries or damages that may occur during matches.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the settings page. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting an updated version on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate courts.
